Hawkesbury Living is pleased to announce the name of the upcoming extension to its aged care facility: Rivera Place.
The redevelopment of the Norman Court Retirement Village into Rivera Place will provide an additional 41 residential aged care beds to the existing 100 bed facility on March Street, Richmond.
The three level extension has street frontage and views across Richmond Park and the centre of town, maintaining a sense of connection for the residents with their community. The building will providing the following services:
- Ground Floor: 7 suites - 4.5 star fitout, bar fridges, internet cafe, lounge, alfresco seating;
- First Floor: 18 suites - specialised complex care; communal dining and lounge facilities
- Second Floor: 9 suites - 4.5 star fitout, bar fridges, specialised complex care; Internet cafe; communal dining and lounge facilities
Group CEO of Richmond Club Group, Kimberley Talbot, said that the construction of Rivera Place helps Hawkesbury Living address a shortage of aged care places in the local area.
“We’re creating more places for the aged with complex needs in our community,” Ms Talbot said. “Our standard of care supports dignity and independence, offering much needed specialist care for complex needs.”
Rivera Place was chosen as the name for this new development as it draws on themes of history, memories and the Hawkesbury River as a symbol of the region.
“Our new brand was inspired by the river, the beating heart of the Hawkesbury region. It echoes the cycle of life and evokes the sense of a tranquil part of nature,” Ms Talbot said. “We are also multi-generational community with a rich history across eras. Each of our residents has stories connecting them with family and community and every story is worth celebrating.”
“We brought these concepts together to create a new brand: Rivera Place.”
One of the ways that Hawkesbury Living will be celebrating the lives of its residents is the creation of the ‘Memory Way’ concept, a permanent display in the walkway between the old and new sections of the facility.
As you stroll from the carpark through to the new building, we will create the Rivera Place Memory Way, a contemplative environment which recognises Richmond’s rich history. Residents and family can reflect on generations past and experience nostalgic memories from earlier days.
Our Brand Promise, ‘Trust in Care’, is also an important component of Rivera Place.
It acknowledges that caring for our aging residents is more than just clinical care and serve with empathy, dignity and respect. Our trusted clinicians and carers are highly trained specialists who deliver a new standard of aged care excellence.
Rivera Place is scheduled for completion in April, with the first resident moving into the new facility in early May. For more information on Rivera Place and Hawkesbury Living, visit www.hawkesburyliving.com.au or call 02 4578 2966.
