Support
For more than 60 years, one of the main support roles within our local community has been held by Richmond Club. From local sport to community groups serving our local area and on to social and community needs, Richmond Club is often the reason that such support can exist and serve.
TOURISM GRANT
Richmond Club has applied for a grant to the federal government to assist in developing tourism for the entire Hawkesbury area under the TQUAL Grants program. Small business is the backbone of the Australian tourism industry. We need to be more innovative to assist our local business by bringing tourism back to the Hawkesbury.
Richmond Club supports Operation Care & Premier’s Flood Relief Apeal
Richmond Club has donated $5000 to Operation Care & $5000 to the Premier’s Flood Relief.
The RSL & Services Clubs Association, the Returned & Services League of Australia and the Department of Defence joined forces in 2006 to establish Operation CARE. The scheme provides up to one week’s ‘Rest and Recuperation’ at sites throughout the country for selected Defence personnel and their immediate family, where the Defence member has been repatriated to Australia as a consequence of wounds received in combat operations.
The aim of Operation CARE is to assist wounded Defence personnel and their immediate family to recover from both the physical and emotional scars incurred from combat, by providing them some quality time together in a relaxing and stressfree
environment. It is also extended to the widows of those servicemen killed in action. More than 20 recipients have so far
benefitted from the program.
On 29 December 2010, the Premier launched a disaster relief appeal to help those affected by wide spread flooding in
Queensland. The Disaster Relief Appeal has been extended to include people affected by Tropical Cyclone Yasi and
Richmond Club has donated $5,000 to this great cause to assist in the rebuild of affected areas.
