Career Paths

The recruitment strategy focuses on creating employment opportunities and career paths for the Hawkesbury community within the Hospitality, Aged care, Child care, Health and fitness, hairdressing, or related industries.

Our job opportunities and career pathing are communicated through work experience programs, career days, internal development, scholarship programs and individual recognition. We use numerous techniques to identify opportunities that could be created to assist the employees reaching their potential and achieving their life goals, including staff appraisals, recognition programs, team coaching, MBI whole brain analysis and the neuro-science of leadership.    As the needs of the community grow, we constantly identify further skills required to be developed in the industry and either identify someone with the skill set required or develop someone to take on the potential role. An example of this is the Nurse Scholarship.

The University of Western Sydney currently offers the Degree in Nursing, the Richmond area requires an increase in nurses to meet the requirements of the ageing population of the community. In partnership with the University of Western Sydney, a nursing scholarship has been developed to facilitate a member of the Richmond Community to obtain the qualifications and skills required to assist this skill shortage in the future.

Another initiative to retain skills in the Hawkesbury is the partnership we have with the Department of Education; over 12 school based trainees have been facilitated in various areas including aged care, nursing, hairdressing, administration, cookery and entertainment to provide job skills and certification in the last two years of their secondary schooling. This program aims to familiarize young people with the jobs available and career opportunities within the community.

[Over the past few years’ engagement with our stakeholders and consumers has seen a significant area of development with the introduction of residents and relatives forums both at the Nursing home and the Club.

These initiatives have afforded us the opportunity to ensure that our services are continuously improving and responding to the needs of residents and members.
